National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has postponed the World Environment Day 2026 Celebrations.
NEMA made the announcement on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 in a public notice saying the celebrations that were earlier scheduled for 5th June in Adjumani have been postponed and a new date shall be communicated in due course.
Without divulging into details, NEMA says the postponement has been occasioned by unforeseen circumstances that have made the physical celebration impossible.
This is a second big event that has been cancelled falling in the month of June, 2026. The 2026 Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations always held in early June were also called off due to Ebola scare.
