Renowned Mbale City money lender, James Masaba has come out to dispute an article published by Mulangira news website pinning the Serere County legislature, Hon Emmanuel Omoding for failing to repay a loan of 13million shillings.

‎In the press briefing held on 20th June 2026 in Mbale, Mr Masaba clarified that the published article was false.

‎”I got shocked when I learnt that someone wrote an article accusing Hon Omoding that he failed to pay my money amounting to Shs13M, which is very wrong, it’s true he picked my Shs13M during his campaigns but he cleared me even before his swearing in,” said Mr Masaba.

‎Mr. Masaba also added that those spreading false information against MP Omoding are the ones fighting his career as a leader.

‎”I don’t have any issue with MP Omoding, he has been my friend and we are friends, I believe those are people fighting him for no reason and I want to put it clear that I did not go to court or any law firm, my money was paid outside court,” says Masaba.

‎However, the article that went viral online and social media, detailed that the Serere County legislature and the director of Impact Ministries was dragged to court over allegations of failing to repay the private loan of Shs13million, according to a document allegedly filed before the Chief Magistrate Court in Mbale.

Hon Omoding through his political assistant, Pastor Simon Ojatum told this website that the Serere legislature is innocent.

‎” I am happy the person they are claiming that his accusing Hon Omoding that his demanding his 13m shillings is here today to clear the circulating allegations and being a pastor we pray God to take control over them”, said Pastor Ojatum.
