The Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary, Ben Kumumanya has ordered the Bulambuli District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to interdict four senior staff t over allegations of corruption.
According to the letter dated 13.07.2026, the Permanent Secretary orders for the interdiction of Paulo Walimbwa, the Bulambuli District Engineer; Joseph Magona, the Bulambuli Town Council Town Clerk; Okiror, the Bulambuli Town Council Engineer; and Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Muhammad Mulongo.
The interdiction followed a government inspection of projects by the Minister for Local Government, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi; State Minister for Local Government, Justin Nameere; the Minister of State for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Simon Mulongo; Bulambuli District Woman MP Sarah Nambozo Wekomba; Elgon North MP Gerald Nangoli; the LCV Chairperson; and residents last week.
During the inspection, the team discovered a number of unfinished and shoddy works. This prompted Minister Balaam to order their arrest, and they are currently in the custody of the Anti-Corruption Unit officers.
According to the letter, the four have been interdicted over neglect of duty, mismanagement of office, and misappropriation of public funds.
