The Namisindwa District Chief Administrative Officer, Joseph Lomongin, has confirmed the interdiction of two staff members over a Parish Development Model saga, ahead of a visit by the Minister of Local Government, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, and his State Minister, Justine Nameere, tomorrow Thursday.
Lomongin made the confirmation on Wednesday, 15th July, 2026 in an exclusive interview with this reporter during the launch of piglets and onion seeds giveaway to selected beneficiaries in Namisndwa.
In June, 2026, Barbara Namono, the Community Development Officer of Bukhaweka Town Council, and her husband, Wilberforce Bwayo, a security guard at Bukiabi Health Center III in Bukiabi Sub-county, were arrested over allegations of fraudulently using the IDs of teachers and elderly people to access millions of Parish Development Model funds without their knowledge.
The two were detained at Namisindwa Central Police Station but were later released on bond.
While confirming the interdiction of the duo, Lomongin said that if evidence is found during the investigation, the two will be dismissed from the civil service as an example to other civil servants who are frustrating the PDM government program.
Meanwhile, Emma Bwayo, the LC5 chairperson of Namisindwa urged members of the public to turn up in large numbers and freely present their grievances to the Minister fr Local Government, Hon. Balaam Baruhagara who was expected at the district today, Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Bwayo also appealed to government officials to remain at their duty stations and warned them against running away from accountability. He encouraged them to stay and explain their work to the Minister and his team, assuring them of his support where necessary.
The District Secretary for Production, Bosco Wasieba, also urged government workers to remain available during the visit and prepare reports covering the past three years. He further called on public servants to uphold transparency and accountability in the execution of their duties to avoid unnecessary tension during monitoring visits.
