IGANGA
MTN Uganda has brought the energy of its Free Your Fire campaign to Iganga, through the Y’ello Storm, a nationwide customer engagement experience taking MTN closer to the communities it serves.
The Y’ello Storm is more than an activation where MTN engages customers directly through health services, merchant activations, community initiatives and network engagements.
The activation reflects the spirit of the Free Your Fire campaign, which encourages Ugandans to pursue their ambitions, express their creativity, and make the most of the opportunities around them. MTN is powering this drive through reliable connectivity, digital services, financial solutions and platforms that keep customers connected and moving forward.
For three days, MTN teams have been moving across different communities in Iganga, engaging customers, merchants and local leaders.
As part of the activation, MTN Uganda on Thursday 20th August 2026 held a health camp at Mayuge General Hospital, where the company donated 20 covered mattresses and 20 mosquito nets for mothers.
Speaking at the handover, Frankline Acharo, the General Manager for Growth and New Business at MTN Uganda, said the Y’ello Storm also gives MTN an opportunity to listen to customers while continuing to strengthen its relationship with the communities it serves.
Mayuge District Health Officer, Dr. Basembeza Asuman, lauded MTN for the timely support to the health facility and called for more support in Diabetes Clinics in Mayuge health facilities.
Later, the MTN team proceeded to Bunagwe village, Nakaloke Parish in Kizuba Sub-county, Namutumba District, where they launched a new MTN network site.
Speaking at the launch, Allan Njagala, the commercial manager in Eastern Region at MTN Uganda, said the new site will provide appropriate and reliable network connection for customers in the area.
Locals of Bunagwe village, led by the Vice Chairperson of Nakaloke Parish, Isima Ssengendo Mugooda, appreciated MTN for installing the network site in their village, saying it will ease communication and boost business.
