Former Speaker of the 11th Parliament from 2022 to 2026 has spoken out on the pardon she received from President Museveni after months under house arrest.
News of the Presidential pardon of Hon. Anita Annet Among, also Woman MP Bukedea District came through on Tuesday, 25th August, 2026 following Gen. Muhoozi’s tweet on his X-Handle.
Among whose residences were left by the SFC soldiers on Tuesday, took to her X-Handle today, Wednesday, 26th August, 2026 saying she thanks the Almighty God for the gift of life and freedom.

I take this opportunity to thank the Almighty God for the gift of life and freedom. My profound and heartfelt appreciation goes to His Excellency, President @KagutaMuseveni, for his unmatched parental grace and decision to grant me mercy.
I also extend my gratitude to the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. @mkainerugaba, for his professionalism throughout this period. As the Woman MP for Bukedea, I look forward to continuing my work for my constituents and standing firm with our revolutionary leadership.
