Socialite Don Chris Remanded On 127 Charges of Fleecing Money from Job Applicants

City Hall Magistrates Court, presided over by His worship Nicholas Aisu, has remanded socialite Christian Asiimwe alias Don Chris, over 127 charges of obtaining money by false pretences from job seekers.

 

The crafty socialite who was recently arrested from Zana zone in Wakiso district, appeared before City Hall court on Wednesday afternoon September 2, 2026, and the Magistrate read him the charges against him, which were contained in seven separate charge sheets, each listing about 20 complainants.

 

Prosecution told court that Don Chris allegedly collected millions of shillings from the job seekers purporting to secure them employment in foreign countries.

 

It is alleged that between 2022 and 2025, the accused person obtained money from hundreds of job seekers by falsely promising to secure them employment abroad in countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Dubai.

 

Don Chris who is the director of the defunct labour recruitment company, Sky Pins, was remanded to Luzira Prison until September 21, 2026, when he returns to court for further hearing of the cases imposed against him.
