Police in Kagadi are holding two sons in connection with murder by beheading of their mother, Angela Kabagenzi, 95, a resident of Matuntu A Village, in Kagadi District.

It’s reported the deceased went missing from her residence on the night of September 4th and her body was discovered the following morning on September 5, 2026, approximately 300 metres away from her home, in a sugarcane plantation, with the head missing.

Residents informed police that in turn swiftly responded to the scene of crime with a sniffer dog and upon arrival, investigators established the possible exit route through the thick sugarcane plantation.

Police noted that sniffer dog No. T/P 240 Marshal was introduced to the scene and successfully picked up a scent.

“The dog tracked the trail to the home of Biija Peter and subsequently proceeded to the home of Isingoma, another son of the deceased, leading to their arrest to assist with investigations.

During the operation, Isingoma led the Police and community members to a location where the head of the deceased had allegedly been buried before retrieving the body.

The suspects are currently freezing behind bars as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder continue.
