The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government, Ben Kumumanya, has ordered the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Sironko District to interdict 18 staff over neglect of duty, abuse of office and mismanagement of public resources.
In a letter written to the CAO dated 17/09/2026, the Permanent Secretary said the mentioned officers must step aside to pave way for investigations.
The letter follows the visit of Balaam Barugahara, the Minister of local government, who was recently in the district where he ordered the arrest of those officers.
The officers are Fred Wozisi – District Planner, Sam Mandete – District Chief Finance Officer, Paulo Wakoko – District Health Officer, Sam Gidongo – District Engineer, Michael Nangwalu – Physical Planner, Gerald Simera – District Land Officer, and Rashid Mafabi – Natural Resource Officer..
Others are; Vicent Wanzala – Commercial Officer, Alex Wesonga – District Education Officer, Andrew Wasukira – Senior Engineer, Zam Mugide – Town Clerk Sironko Town Council, Patrick Charles Okori – PDM Focal Person doubling as District Production Officer, Eva Wanduwa – Secretary Service Commission, Tonny Wabudwire – Medical Officer, Doreen Nambafu – Town Clerk Budadiri Town Council, Polycap Kissa – Inspector of Schools, and Barbra Namaganda – District IT Officer.
According to the PS, the interdiction should be implemented by the Office of the CAO with immediate effect.
