The Uganda Police of Ngora district territorial command have registered a minor traffic accident vide TAR 36/2022 involving Motor vehicle registration number UAY 533X ISUZU Bus belonging to Gateway bus company which knocked twelve (12) Heads of cattle that died on the spot.
According to information got, the accident occurred today, 19/05/2022 at about 0300AM at Atiira- Kapir along Mbale- Soroti road where a Gateway bus rammed into the animals that were lying along the road following the high speed the driver was using although there were no cases of casualties recorded.
The bus was later towed to Soroti for inspection by the inspector of Vehicles, as the matter is fully being investigated.
According to the police spokes person for east kyoga in a press statement, advises and implores the public not to let their animals stray unto highways, public access roads and routes demarcated as such by law, as the negligence might cause accidents as in the instant incident, carries penal sanction against owners of these animals who shall be arrested and arraigned in the courts of law.
