MBALE CITY
Police of Northern City Division in Mbale City is holding a medical doctor for defiling and raping 12 year old senior one student of Town Side High School.
The suspect is identified as Charles Khaukha aged 45 years of age and a resident of Bujoloto Northern city division in Mbale city.
According to John Byamugisha, the DPC of Northern City Division, Khaukha who was arrested on Friday has been working with St Andrews medical clinic located in Bujoloto.
He adds that it was reported that Khaukha was got red handed by locals having sexual intercourse with the minor at his treatment room.
Byamugisha adds that the minors was sick and was given permission by school authorities to get treatment from the clinic.
He confirmed that Khaukha is currently detained at Northern division central police station, Nakaloke waiting to appear in court to answer charges of aggravated defilement and rape.
(The latest from police however is that Khauka is now at the Mbale City Central Police Station where his file of rape and defilement are being prepared before he is taken to court.)- ED.
One of the school staff who preferred anonymity told this website that they were shocked after receiving the news yet they had permitted the student to go out and get treatment.
Some of the area residents allege that Khaukha has been in the habit of raping female patients who turn up for treatment and they have been tracing him.
They urged government to give him reasonable punishment such that he can be an example to others.
Elgon region has now registered five aggravated defilement cases in this week only according to police.
