Nabilatuk District Kick starts 3rd Phase of Covid-19 Vaccination Exercise

Nabilatuk District Authorities on Thursday, 30th June 2022 launched the 3rd Phase of the Mass COVID-19 vaccination exercise.

 

The vaccination exercise which started on Friday will last for 5 days from 1st July 2022 to Tuesday 5th July 2022.The vaccination will also target children from 12-17 years and those not yet vaccinated from 18 years and above.

 

According to the Ag. District Health Officer Nabilatuk, Dr. Peter Lokwang, the District has a target of 14,000 children within the category of 12-17 years.

 

Dr. Lokwang urged the community to embrace the vaccination exercise, emphasizing that vaccination is free of charge.

 

During the Official Launch, the RDC Nabilatuk, Kyeyune Ssenyonjo reminded the locals that vaccination is not treatment but rather a preventive measure.

 

He emphasized the need to adhere to the COVID-19 S.O.Ps to ensure that they are not infected.

 

Addressing key stakeholders, the Central Supervisor Ministry of Health, Agnes Gimbo emphasized that vaccination is voluntary and children will need the consent of their parents.

 

Gimbo said that those who received all the doses are also eligible for the booster dose. She reminded the community that COVID is still around.

 

She urged the community to utilize the Village health teams to reach out to the vaccination points.

 

Nabilatuk District has received a total of 19,492 doses of vaccines including; 11,367 doses of Pfizer and 8,125 doses of Johnson & Johnson. The District has vaccinated 35,000 people since the start of the COVID-19 Vaccination
