The Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Bukedea are in mourning following the death of their president, Albert Koffman who succumbed to high blood pressure.
Koffman died in international hospital Kampala on the night of Saturday, 9th July 2022.
It’s such a painful moment for the clubs to lose as the two clubs were preparing for the installation of club president elect and the charter of the Rotaracts which was to take place on Saturday July 16th, 2022 at pride motel.
All the preparations had to be put on hold as all the club members were in dilemma to mourn the death of Koffman.
According to the doctor’s report, Albert Koffman died of blood pressure.
Martha Agwang, the new president elect who is to be installed described the deceased as a very hard working and committed person who performed a tremendous job in improving education status in Bukedea as well as health services.
“We as a club have lost a very important person and Bukedea at large, it’s a big blow to us but we have nothing to say, its God who gives and who takes back”, said President elect Agwang.
Hundreds of persons with disabilities who have been studying under the sponsorship of the deceased all are in bad condition over his untimely departure.
George Emuron, the club public relations officer added that the deceased played a big role in improving health services at the Bukedea health facility where he purchased blood fridge, renovation of maternity ward, distribution of mosque nets to schools, sponsoring education of PWD’s, operation of impaired PWD’s among others.
“It’s hard to talk at this painful time, but we as a club and Bukedea as a district have lost a very important person,” said PR. Emuron.
By the time of filing this story, Koffman’s remains were still in Mbale city mortuary pending burial arrangements at his ancestral home in Chodong parish in Kidongole Sub County in Bukedea district tomorrow July 12th, 2022.
