MBALE CITY
Ambrose Ochan, the New City Town Clerk, Mbale City has promised to do what it takes in conjunction with other Division Assistant Town Clerks and political leaders to boost local revenue.
He said this on the 13th July, 2022 at Mbale city offices when receiving instruments of office from David Kyasanku, the former town clerk who has been transferred to Tororo municipality.
Ambrose Ochan was transferred from Soroti City where he has been the City Town Clerk.
Mbale city is currently facing challenges of low tax revenue collection which has affected city works like paying arrears to councillors, casual workers and repairing roads.
Ochan says that he is going to start from where his colleagues ended by looking for ways of boosting local revenue such that workers in the city can move on well.
Kasimu Namugali, the Mayor of Mbale city urged the new town clerk to have a good relationship with the technical side like the former town clerk such that they work together to push Mbale city ahead.
He adds that currently, they are many activities going on in the city like road constriction, and cleanness among others which must be supported by the new town clerk to regain the lost glory.
