Mbale Diocese Bishop has trashed World Bank for suspending loam facility to Uganda over anti homosexuality law.

Rt. Rev John Wilson Nandaah lashed out at the World bank while presiding over the confirmation ceremony of over 80 Christians and a mini fundraising towards the curving of St Peter’s Church, Bupoto in Namisindwa District on Sunday.

Nandaah said that Uganda is an independent and sovereign country whose laws and governance must be respected, arguing that the funding cannot substitute our norms and religious beliefs.

He says whites brought religion, education, and health, which Africa embraced, adding that for homosexuality they can’t receive.

Rev Emma Mukisa, the Archdeacon for Bupoto Archdeaconry, commended Christians for warmly welcoming the Bishop. He revealed that the event collected Christians from over 28 churches under the Archdeaconry.

Bwayo Emma, the Bupoto Archdeaconry Youth Chairperson, asked Christians to embrace church work. Bwayo, who also doubles as the Namisindwa Male Youth Councilor, asked churchgoers to attend the Youth and Students Conference slated for 27th August at Bubulo Girls High School and Bishop’s Football tournament an inter- Archdeaconry gala aimed at spotting talent.
