SIRONKO FDC ELECTIONS: Former District Chairman Retains Seat

Former Sironko district Forum for Democratic Change FDC party chairperson, Patrick Wanyaye has retained his position.
He was declared as a winner last evening 15th August 2023 after getting 290 votes aganist  his closest rival John Dadiri Gidudu who got 183 votes.
According to Moses Wokoka, the  district FDC electoral supervisor who presided over the election  at Sironko district head offices, the elections were free and fair.
While speaking to our reporter shortly after being declared winner,  Wanyayi promised to start building the party by strengthening party structures from grassroot levels
He says that in the last elections FDC did not perform well at most lower elective positions   which will not happen  again in the future elections.
John Dadiri the loser congratulated Wanyayi saying he is ready to work with him to build the party.
James Wanyaka the former Budadiri west constituency  FDC party chairperson says that after this election they are going to look for all ways of strengthening the party from  grassroots for Nathan  Nandala, the party general secretary also doubling as area member of parliament.
He urged party elected leaders to start work of mobilizing and recruiting new members from other parties to put FDC party ahead.
However,  Meris Mudega passed unopposed for the position of party district Vice chaiperson.
