Mbale City has received new District Police Commanders after former ones were transferred.
According to SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region police PRO while speaking to the media at his office on Tuesday, 12th September 2023, those positions had been vacant for one week after former officers in those positions were transferred to other destinations.
He says SP Kenneth Bakashaba has been posted to Mbale central police station replacing Sp Abed Samuel, SP Steven Kamar has been posted to Industrial City central police station after replacing Denis Pahani and SP Conrad Byamugisha has been posted to Northern city Division central police station replacing John Byamugisha.
Taitaka says that the transfers are normal and urged locals to work with the new DPCs to bring security in their areas.
He pointed out Northern city division as the worst division with high cases of rape, murder and drug abuse saying local leaders must work hand In hand with the new DPC to curb down such cases.
