AFCON2027: FUFA Unveils 9 Training Grounds for Participating Teams

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has unveiled nine stadiums that will be used by the participating teams in the AFCON2027 Tournament that will be co-hosted by Uganda and Kenya.

 

In a press statement dated today, 22nd November, 2023, the Federation says the Stadia include seven in Kampala and these are; MTN Omondi Stadium, Mubs play ground, Kyambogo University playground, Old Kampala SS Playground, Makerere playground, Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku and Makindye Officers’ Mess.

 

The other two are found near Hoima Stadium which was chosen to replace Akii-bua stadium in Lira. They are; Boma ground in Hoima and Boma ground in Masindi.

 

The facilities have already been inspected by a combined team led by the State Minister of Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang. It included officials from Ministry of Education and Sports, National Council of Sports and FUFA.

 

The two day inspection exercise ended today, 22nd November, with FUFA saying the stadia are going to be developed to desirable standards that will make them usable and accessible to the communities around them.

 

Boma ground in Hoima and Boma ground in Masindi were also inspected as they are expected to be used by the teams that will use the Hoima stadium.
