National Water and Sewerage Company (NW&SC) has announced a major shutdown in its services in various areas of Kampala City
The announcement made today, 6th December 2023, indicates that there shall be a shutdown of Ggaba 2 and 3 Water Treatment Plants tomorrow 7th December 2023.
“ The Management of NW&SC wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in the water supply tomorrow Thursday, December 2023 from 7.00 am to 8.00 pm,” the statement reads in part.
The Shutdown is to allow routine maintenance works, cleaning of water reservoirs and inspection of underwater installations by a group of specialized engineers.
The areas that are most likely to go without water are; Bugolobi, Mbuya, Kampala Central Business District, Mulago, Bombo Road, Nansana, Namirembe, Mengo Hill and parts of Makindye.
Others are; Buziga, Munyonyo, Bunga, Ggaba Road, Kansanga, Nsambya, Jinja Road, Kyambogo, parts of Mutungo, Nakawa and surrounding areas.
The above areas are expected to witness low pressure and or no water during these times.
