Namisindwa District is gearing up to mark the belated Liberation Day and Women’s Day on March 15th, 2024, at the Lwakhakha play grounds.
According to Salome Julie Namaara, the Deputy RDC Namisindwa, this celebration will align with nationwide and global observances, highlighting the achievements of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the district as well as honoring the contributions and accomplishments of women.
Salome emphasizes the significance of acknowledging the strides made by the NRM in Namisindwa while simultaneously celebrating the remarkable achievements of women in various spheres.
She calls upon women leaders to mobilize their peers and supporters of the NRM to actively participate in this event, fostering unity and solidarity within the community.
Emma Bwayo, the Namisindwa District Male Youth Councilor, advocates for prioritizing assistance to women in rural communities, particularly those facing economic hardships such as hustlers, widows, and single mothers.
Bwayo voices concerns about the barriers faced by women in rural areas, noting that despite government initiatives, many women still struggle to access opportunities and realize their full potential.
He calls for a concerted effort to remove obstacles hindering the progress of rural women, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and empowerment.
