BUTALEJA
Parents have this morning, 21st March, 2024 invaded Busaba seed Secondary school located in Himutu Sub County, Butaleja district.
The angry parents are demanding immediate resignation and exit of Ruth Nakityo, the Head teacher on account of mismanaging the school administration.
Led by Ayubu Waguti, the parents accuse madam Nakityo of overcharging the development fees without its relevancy, arrogance and poor cooperation between the head teacher and her staff.
According to them, Busaba Seed School is government aided, fully equipped with the facilities thus see no value for the 30,000 shillings collected termly, for development. Nakityo allegedly abuses the parents over ignorance, poverty and lack of responsibility for their children who study at Busaba Seed School.
By press time, the angry parents had locked up Nakityo, in her office, and heaped banana plants and thorns at the door, making Nakityo scream while in the office.
They concluded by giving Nakityo an ultimatum of one week for her to seek another station for administration.
Gamusi Salim, the mayor of Busaba town council, attributed Nakityo’s mistakes to over stay in office. He blamed Nakityo for having cut her deputy’s bananas last Month, and causing disunity within the staff.
Salim, also blamed the head teacher for having failed to make friends within the neighboring communities. He thus urged the head teacher to seek a transfer.
Meanwhile, Aggrey Hadali, the district Inspector of schools who coincidentally met the bad order, addressed the angry parents and promised to reconcile Nakityo and her staff. He also reported that they held a meeting about the bad order in Seed school on Tuesday.
Police led by the Butaleja o/c station, swung in action later and normalized the situation.
