Buganda Kingdom letter to Milly Babalanda

The Buganda Kingdom Gomba County Legal Advisor has written to the Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda protesting the appointment of controversial, Yiga Kisakyamukama Wamala as the district’s new Assistant RDC.

Timothy Muwonge’s letter dated 25th April, 2024 asserts that Yiga is not suitable to represent the office of the President considering his shameful actions in 2021.

“He posted a video in which he undressed and made abusive, discriminatory and demeaning statements against the Kingdom of Buganda,” says Muwonge.

Muwonge argues that Yiga’s actions are a show that he disrespects the Kabaka of Buganda, his subjects and the country at large.

“This has caused widespread public concern about his appointment for such a person with questionable character to represent the President,” says Muwonge.

Muwonge has requested Minister Babalanda to withdraw Yiga’s appointment and refer him to Butabika National Referral Hospital for a mental status evaluation.
