Ngora County Member of Parliament, Juliet Achayo Lodou has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to education by transforming Tiling Gawa Primary School in Kobwin sub-county, Ngora, from humble beginnings to a beacon of hope.
Amidst excitement on May 5th, 2024, Achayo inaugurated a fully-equipped, self-contained teachers’ house, marking a significant milestone in her efforts to enhance educational standards in the region.
The newly opened teachers’ house, constructed at Shs125 million, was fully funded by her symbolizing progress and promise. It will provide essential accommodation for teachers who have long endured challenging commutes or lived in rudimentary conditions.

During the commissioning ceremony, Achayo urged the school management to leverage the new facility to foster improved academic outcomes for future generations.
Achayo’s steadfast dedication to the education sector sets her apart. In addition to providing teachers’ residences, she has led initiatives such as classroom construction, salary supplements for educators, and the establishment of Seed schools across Ngora.
Her mantra, “KOCAU NGORA,” embodies a commitment to tirelessly pursue the betterment of her constituency’s educational landscape.

While speaking to this publication, Achayo revealed that while campaigning in 2021, she identified Tiling as one of the primary schools that had an acute shortage of accommodation for teachers.
“I am happy that I managed to construct a self-contained twin teachers’ house to alleviate pressure on staff accommodation, provide some comfort to teachers and ultimately transform the education landscape in the constituency,” she said.
Achayo who says her effort is one way of fulfilling her Social Responsibility of giving back to the community adds that her support to the school is part of her, “broader commitment to support development initiatives in the education sub sector in Ngora County.”
The MP also used the occasion to implore her constituents to ensure they get counted in the 2024 Census so that government can appropriate social services proportional to the constituency population.
She urged her voters to take advantage of the ongoing rains to plant short and long term crops for both commercial and home consumption purposes.
