BUGISU: President Museveni’s Lumasaba Translator Passes On at 65

Peter Wabuya Mayeku who has been translating Lumasaba for President Museveni during campaign rallies in Bugisu sub region has passed on.

 

Mayeku aged 65 years, a resident of Namabya Sub County in Namisindwa district who has been battling with diabetes for a long time died on early hour of Friday, 17th May, 2024.

 

Wabuya was a primary teacher in the 1980s then joined politics and he served as RC3 secretary of Bupoto Sub County under Mbale district.

 

He also became first Manafwa district LCV vice Chairperson in 2015 during the era of Charles Walimbwa Peke as LCV Chairperson after it was curved out from Mbale district.

 

After Namisindwa being created as district from Manafwa in 2017, late Wabuya was the first interim LCV chairperson.

 

He has currently been holding the position of Namisindwa district NRM party advisor.

 

Aramazan Wabuko, the Namisindwa district NRM Chairperson praised the late Wabuya saying the district, Bugisu region and NRM party has lost a very vital strong irreplaceable pillar.

 

He adds that Wabuya died last night night from his home located at Magale town council in Namisindwa district saying the body has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for embalmment.
