Police in Mbale district are currently holding a 43 year old retired UPDF soldier and resident of Lambo village, Lwaboba, Bunambutye Sub County for allegedly murdering his biological son.
According to police, Timbula committed the offence on Saturday, 6th July when he killed Peter Wambeyabeya, a Senior three 16 year old student of Busiu Secondary School.
It was reported that the step mother who was staying with the deceased reported to his father that the boy has been big headed and not behaving well.
This prompted Timbula to hang the son on a wire around his neck until he died on spot.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying the suspect is currently being detained at Busoba police station waiting to appear in courts of law to answer charges of murder.
He adds that they are also hunting for the step mother who is on run. Meanwhile, the deceased’s the body has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem
