Charles Okello Athago, the former district councilor for Merikit Sub-county in Tororo district has been sent on remand for two weeks to Morikatipe prison on accusations of theft.
Okello was on Monday, 9th December, 2024 arraigned before the Chief Magistrates court in Tororo district on accusations of theft. This follows weeks after Okello was interdicted over allegations of theft on 24th November, 2024 at Linkup Lodge in Tororo Municipality.
Reports indicate that Okello was caught red handed with the help of a CCTV Camera breaking into a client’s room.
He is expected to be back in Court on the 23rd December, 2024 for further court hearing of his case.
