A team of police officers from Police Headquarters on Tuesday, 22nd January, 2025 carried out an eviction operation against encroachers on police land in the Nateete Police Division, located in Kitooro Zone, Nateete Parish, Rubaga Division, Kampala City.

This land also houses the division headquarters, as well as the headquarters of the Traffic and Road Safety Directorate, and the Directorate of Production, Welfare, and Sports.

According to SSP Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, the eviction targeted kiosks along the Nateete-Kiggagga Road and a day-and-night car parking facility, all of which were owned by Nalongo Nanyombi Halimah.

He says that despite having received an eviction notice, Halimah failed to comply adding that fortunately, the eviction process was carried out peacefully, with no injuries reported.

In addition to Halimah’s properties, other businesses operating on police land were also evicted. To prevent future encroachment, the police plan to erect a fence around the entire area. This measure aims to protect police property and maintain order in the division.
