In Abim District, the Police Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) successfully recovered 120 head of cattle stolen by armed Karamojong warriors.
This was revealed by the Police Spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituuma on Monday, 17th February, 2025 during a weekly press briefing at Naguru Police Headquarters, Kampala.
He says the cattle were raided from residents, including 77-year-old Okech Jackson, while grazing in Adololong Central Village.
ASTU’s swift response led to a fire exchange during which the warriors escaped but resulting in the recovery of all the stolen livestock, which are currently held at the barracks.
Security forces expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and vigilance, which contributed to the operation’s success.
