BREAKING: Kenya’s Raila Odinga Officially Joins President Ruto’s UDA-Kenya Kwanza Gov’t

Kenya’s opposition Kingpin and leader of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party, Raila Odinga has today officially led his Party into an alliance with President Ruto’s UDA-Kenya Kwanza Gov’t.

 

The MoU was confirmed by President Ruto in a Televised address today, Friday, 7th March, 2025 attended by leaders of both Parties.

 

In his address, President Ruto thanked Raila Odinga whom he fondly called ‘my elder brother’ for being a strong man who maneuvered through many hurdles to see the merger a success.

 

Whereas, Ruto says the alliance is not about positions, it remains to be seen which position Raila Odinga will be appointed to having recently lost the race for African Union Commission Chair.

 

The Kenya Kwanza-ODM Framework Agreement was signed at KICC, Nairobi, on Friday, in an event that was attended by Members of Parliament allied to the two leaders.

 

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki was also present at the event.

 

The working arrangement will see both UDA and ODM party share political infrastructure on matters of national interest.

 

They will also deploy their best experts for consultations on matters concerning the governance of the country.

 

Thousands of the ODM supporters had earlier thronged the KICC ahead of the signing of the pact.

 

The event preceded a series of consultations conducted by Raila in various parts of the country where the ODM leader enjoys significant support,
