National Unity Platform Chairman, Fred Ssentamu Nyanzi, commonly known as Chairman Nyanzi has asked his son, Churchill Nyanzi who is the Guild President of Makerere University to apologize or resign as Guild President for accepting to take a group photo with President Museveni.

President Museveni was at Makerere University on Tuesday, 8th April, 2025 to launch the Research and Innovations Week.

In the process, the Guild President and some of his Cabinet Ministers posed for a photo shoot with the President.

Displeased with the action, Chairman Nyanzi has released a video in which he castigates his son for accepting to be used by President Museveni to achieve his selfish interests.

Chairman Nyanzi says as a member of NUP, he can’t tolerate seeing his son dining with a ‘Dictator.”

“Even if you went through as an Independent (for Guild Presidency), you still need to come out and apologize to Ugandans and if you find it even harder, resign and concentrate on your books,” Chairman Nyanzi appeals to the son.

Earlier today, Wednesday, 9th April, Churchill came out to deny Social Media posts that he had apologized to his family over the photoshoot saying, the accounts being used are not his.
