IGANGA
The Assistant RCC of Lira City East Division, Mwase Karim has been murdered by unknown people in Nakalama, Iganga District.
According to Busoga East Police Spokesperson, Afayo Michael, Mwase was killed at Bukaboli village, Nakalama parish, Nakalama Sub County in Iganga district slightly before 11:00PM.
The killers reportedly abandoned Mwase’s lifeless body besides his colleague’s official vehicle which Mwase was driving.
Mwase had reportedly travelled to Iganga to attend a meeting convened by Iganga RDC Sadala Wandera in which he intended to declare his intention to stand for Bugweri County MP Seat.
Afayo confirms the death saying Mwase’s vehicle Reg No. UBH 449L was found abandoned by the roadside at about 11:00PM on Sunday night with its hazard lights flashing.
The death was discovered after police received reports of an abandoned car along Iganga-Bugiri Highway.
Police rushed to the scene and discovered Mwase’s body a few meters away from where the car was parked with injuries on his face and bold oozing from his mouth.
Police are yet to identify the killers and the motive behind the murder.
