The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party in Sironko district on Saturday, 7th June, 2025 summoned over ten of its members for allegedly defying the party constitution by supporting candidates from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

According to Patrick Wanyaye, the district party chairperson, the summoned members, including Allan Muduku from Bukise Sub County and Gidudu Dadiri, the LC3 Chairperson of Busulani Sub County, have openly declared their support for Julius Nakiyi, who is contesting for the Budadiri East constituency seat on the NRM ticket.

Wanyaye stated that the party’s constitution bars its members from supporting candidates from other parties, and the summoned members will have to explain themselves before the disciplinary committee.

He says they will be given two options: either to repent and support the party’s official candidates or face dismissal from the party.

Moses Wakoka, the Sironko district FDC registrar, expressed disappointment with members who have defied the party constitution, saying that this could weaken the party.

Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, the Member of Parliament for Budadiri East constituency, also condemned the actions of the errant members, stating that they are trying to pull the party down.

However, Allan Muduku, one of the summoned members, said he is willing to appear before the committee but will not support Wanzira due to personal political differences.

Meanwhile, hundreds of FDC members from Budadiri East constituency on the same day endorsed Wanzira as the party’s sole candidate.
