Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries are having sleeping nights after the president of Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) jetted in the country to monitor the implementation of Agricultural projects under his agency.
The FAO boss Dr. Qu Dongyu arrived in Uganda on July 21, 2025 and he was received at Agriculture Ministry Headquarters in Entebbe by Minister, Bright Rwamirama.
Dr. Qu Dongyu, who is in Uganda for a three -day visit revealed that he is in Uganda to monitor the progress of Agricultural projects implemented under his agency.
He noted that as FAO, they provide technical assistance and also build capacities of their project implementers and that is the reason he is in Uganda to monitor the progress of Agricultural projects.
Dr. Qu Dongyu called on government to amplify an enabling policy to create a big impact on the ground.
Minister Bright Rwamirama said he is delighted with FAO president’s visit to Uganda saying the Ministry works closely with FAO to cover some gaps in agriculture sector.
“Through FAO, we have been able to post tremendous success in various commodity value chains like coffee, dairy, food and nutrition security enterprises.
