Expelled former Guild President, Kyambogo University has declared his intentions of running for Toroma County Member of Parliament Seat.
Benjamin Akiso made the intentions clear today, Saturday, 26th July, 2025 with a Poster indicating he will be contesting on the National Unity Platform, (NUP) Party ticket.
Kyambogo University dismissed Akiso in a letter dated, 3rd July, 2025, for leading a violent demonstration against the institution’s policy of charging extra fees on late registration.
The decision to dismiss Akiso Benjamin was arrived at on 27th June, 2025 during the 111th meeting of the University Council after receiving a report from the University’s Students’ Affairs and Welfare Committee that recommended his dismissal.
Announcing his candidature, Akiso says:
“I may not have money💵, or a car 🚘, or enough posters. But I’ll tirelessly seek out my votes and support for the president, month after month, day and night, through rain 🌧️ and sunshine☀️.Toroma, Katakwi will be the Luwero of (1981-1986). Your support is highly welcomed.”
