NAMISINDWA
Simiyu Patrick Wataka, a former aspirant in the Namisindwa District LCV race, has officially conceded defeat and accepted the results of the recently concluded NRM primary elections.
Simiyu finished fourth with 509 votes, following Mango Situma who garnered 3,690 votes, incumbent Jackson Wakweika with 66,952 votes, and the winner, Bwayo Emma, who secured 107,453 votes.
In his congratulatory message to flagbearer Bwayo Emma, Simiyu stated that “the best candidate won.” He acknowledged that not all candidates could emerge as the flagbearer and emphasized the need for unity and support behind the party’s choice for the good of NRM.
Responding to a fan’s question on Tuesday afternoon, 29th July, 2025 about whether he planned to return as an independent candidate, Simiyu dismissed the idea and affirmed his commitment to mobilize support for Bwayo Emma.
Bwayo welcomed Simiyu’s endorsement, stating that the party is bigger than any individual. He noted that Namisindwa deserves leaders who are exposed, well-connected, and capable of adding real value to the people. He pledged to remain accessible and accountable to the electorate.
NRM Namisindwa district party chairperson, Aramazan Wabuko, also urged all former contenders to rally behind the flagbearer. He emphasized the importance of party unity and mobilization ahead of the general elections, including support for the President. Wabuko further promised to convene a meeting with all former candidates to foster reconciliation and lasting harmony within the party.
