A total of 19 Traders have been confirmed dead while 13 others were critically injured after a fuso truck in which they were traveling in overturned along Hoima- Bulisa Highway in Kigorobya on Tuesday night, 5th August 2025 at 11pm.
Mr. Michael Kananura who speaks for the Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, confirmed the incident revealing that the Fuso truck (UBB 639W) was carrying traders from Wanseko – Buliisa market but failed to ascend a slope at Kigorobya, rolled backward and overturned killing 19 people on the spot at about 11pm.
He added that the injured traders were rushed to the nearby health facilities for medication. While the bodies of the deceased persons were taken to Hoima City Mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the exact cause of the accident continue.
