The country Business Leader for Sun King Solar Company in Uganda, Mr. Peter Mugwanya, has expressed concern on the increased fake solar products on the market. He says the increased fake solar products on the market has greatly affected the solar industry since their customers have little or no trust in their solar products.
While speaking to the press in Kampala on September 5,2025, Mr. Mugwanya said the increased supply of fake solar products has threatened the solar business. He called upon government to intervene and regulate the solar products on the market.
Mugwanya also decried the heavy taxes imposed on solar products and appealed to government to reduce on such taxes to enable the solar business grow in the country.
The Head of Marketing at Sun King Solar Company, Ms. Marriane Arigye, said that in order to grow the solar business, there is need to make it more visible to the public and ensure genuine solar products are delivered on the market.
The Head business partner at Sun King Solar Company, noted that in order to boost solar usage, there is need to improve on the quality of solar products and services.
