BUKEDEA: Woman Arrested For Stealing 3 Day Old Baby from Atutur Hospital

Police in Atutur police post in Kumi district have arrested a Bukedea woman for allegedly stealing a three day baby.

 

The suspect identified as Sylvia Akurut, is a resident of Amorojo village in Kabarwa Sub County, Bukedea district.

 

Akurut was arrested on Saturday with the support of the Kabarwa district councilor, Benjamin Ichomit.

 

It’s alleged that Akurut, had gone to the hospital to give birth unfortunately she got a miscarriage and she ended up stealing somebody’s baby.

 

John Adilo, the officer in charge of Atutur police post confirmed the arrest saying the suspect was transferred from Kabarwa police post to Atutur where she committed the crime.
