IGANGA
Police in Iganga on Monday 3rd November 2025 arrested a 28-year-old teacher for allegedly engaging in examination malpractice.
The suspect was identified as Mudooko Abdul a teacher at Ibun Baz Primary School and resident of Bugabwe village, Bulubandi parish, Nakigo Sub- County in Iganga district.
According to Busoga East Police spokesperson ASP Micheal Kasadha said they received information concerning the alleged leaking of the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) papers for Mathematics and Social Studies (SST).
The alleged leaked papers were reportedly being distributed via various WhatsApp groups and to individuals using the contact of the suspect.
“Subsequently, a search was conducted up to the suspect’s residence and he was found in possession of the mobile phone with soft copies of suspicious papers.” Said ASP Kasadha.
By press time the suspect had been handed over to UNEB security team for further investigations.
Police appealed to all stakeholders to remain solid on principles of transparency and compliance during the examination period.
