Manafwa District Council Calls Emergency Council Meeting to Pay Last Respects to Fallen Vice Chairperson

The Manafwa District Council Speaker has called for an emergency council meeting on Monday to pay last respects to their Vice Chairperson, Paulo Wakabenga, who passed away on Wednesday at Bubulo Health Center IV in Manafwa Town Council where he had gone to treat a tooth problem.

 

According to the letter dated November 20, 2025, the emergency council meeting will take place on Monday, 24th November, 2025 at the district headquarters and will be attended by Councilors, district staff and general public.

 

Speaking to our reporter on Saturday morning, Isaac Matanda, Manafwa District Local Government Council Speaker, said the district councilors and entire staff members will pay their last respects to the late Wakabenga before burial.

 

Matanda urged the general public and district staff to attend in large numbers, describing the late Wakabenga as a hardworking and exemplary member who will be hard to replace.

 

Wakabenga has been councilor representing Mayefwe Sub County also doubling as district vice Chairperson. The body of the late Wakabenga is currently at Mbale City Mortuary.
