Authorities in Namisindwa district are hunting unknown people who raped 11 year old girl who had been sent to buy maize flour from a nearby shop.
The incident happened at Bumwali village, Kamusayi parish, Bumbo Sub County in Namisindwa district on Monday evening, 1st December, 2025 at about 6:00PM.
According to Simon Wefunya, the Bumbo sub county youth chairperson, the yet to be identified men got the minor while she was on her way to the shop, dragged her to a nearby maize planation and gang raped her.
He says, the minor made an alarm that attracted residents who turned up only to find rapists had vanished further into the maize planation.
Dan Wambwa, the LC1 chairperson of Bumwali village, says they rushed the victim to Magale health center 3 where she is getting treatment.
He warned parents against sending their girl children to shops using hidden bush paths as a way of avoiding such incidents from happening again.
Godfrey wambwa, the victim’s father has urged the public to take to him any related information about the suspects so they can be arrested.
By press time, the case had been reported Bumbo Police Post but the suspects were still at large.
