More details have emerged on the foiled robbery at a National Medical Stores, (NMS) Warehouse in Entebbe Municipality with the State House Health Monitoring Unit headed by Dr. Warren Namara taking over investigations.

The foiled robbery occurred in the wee hours of Sunday morning on 11th January 2026 just a few meters away from Entebbe police station.

However, Joint Security agencies quickly swung into action arrested three of the robbers and also intercepted medical supplies that had been stolen by the robbers.

The recovered stolen items include 78 boxes of disposal gloves and 19 boxes of oxygen regulators all worth Shs100 million.

The suspects have been identified as Ronald Galura, Bam Muwereza and one Shafic who is believed to have masterminded the foiled robbery.

While addressing the media on Sunday evening at the scene of robbery, Dr. Warren Namara, told the press that he got a tip off from a Good Samaritan on the planned robbery and as a result he telephoned security agencies that swung into action and were able to arrest three robbers at the scene while three others eluded arrest.

“I received information on robbery of drugs at NMS Pharmaceutical Warehouse in Entebbe town from a good Samaritan attached to Askar Security Company. I was reliably briefed that initially the thugs had planned to come with a big lorry to load stolen drugs but unfortunately failed to get it in time. They resorted to hiring a Toyota Hiace and placed fake number plates on it with the front side UBB 677Q while the behind side UBD 677V,” Dr. Warren explained.

Dr. Namara said given the nature of the robbery, it was a planned one and vowed to apprehend whoever was involved in it. He revealed that one of the suspects is in police custody while two others are admitted in hospital after they sustained severe injuries during the shooting at the government pharmaceutical warehouse.

“This was a well-planned robbery and we believe an insider had an upper hand in it. This is not the first time robbers break into NMS Pharmaceutical Warehouse. We suspect this has been happening without our knowledge,” he added.

Namara says he is very happy they managed to nab three of the robbers though the other three eluded arrest adding that government has enough drugs but mafias steal and sell them to private health facilities.

‘We have launched Investigations into the incident. We have measured the scene and collected some samples at the scene to help us in our investigations. We shall relentlessly make a follow up on the racket and we shall blow them out,” Dr. Warren Namara vowed.

The spokeswoman for the National Medical Stores (NMS) Sheila Nduhukire confirmed the incident revealing that no medical supplies were taken by robbers because security agencies managed to intercept them at the scene.

“Luckily no medical supplies were taken by the robbers because our security team successfully intercepted them at the scene.  Our security team worked closely with other security agencies to arrest the robbers,“ Nduhukire commended security agencies for a job well done.

Nduhukire disclosed that 78 boxes of disposal gloves, and19 boxes of oxygen regulators, all valued at Shs.100 million were recovered at the scene and were exhibited at Entebbe police station to aid in prosecution of the suspects.

“All the recovered stolen items were exhibited at Entebbe police station to help in further investigations. We appreciate security agencies for their swift intervention in foiling the attempted robbery,” said Nduhukire.
