With just a day left to the 2026 general elections, Nyafamba Barbra Marcy, the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) aspirant for Tororo Woman Member of Parliament, has intensified her campaign trail with a resounding call for unity and cohesion in the district.

Speaking at a well-attended rally in Kwapa Town Council, Tororo District, Nyafamba urged voters to choose leaders wisely and reject tribal divisions, stressing that unity remains the bedrock of meaningful development.

“Tororo can only move forward if both the Itesots and Japadhola communities embrace each other and work together. Unity is the cornerstone of development,” she told the cheering crowd.

Nyafamba emphasized that divisive politics and tribal sentiments have long undermined the district’s progress, warning that such distractions could derail the district’s development trajectory. She called on residents to uphold peace, cohesion, and collective responsibility as Uganda heads into the polls.

The UPC candidate further urged leaders and citizens alike to remain focused on progressive economic empowerment and sustainable development, noting that political wrangles often erode hard-won gains.

Outlining her campaign priorities, Nyafamba pledged to tackle pressing issues in infrastructure, health, and education, sectors she described as critical to Tororo’s transformation.

She promised to champion better roads, improved healthcare facilities, and enhanced access to quality education, particularly for rural communities.

Nyafamba also appealed to senior leaders from the wider Bukedi region to spearhead efforts in fostering unity among the local population.

She stressed that development can only be achieved when trivial differences are set aside.

“Other regions are progressing because they focus on development and overlook minor issues. We must learn from them,” she said, drawing applause from her supporters.

Her message of unity comes at a crucial time, as Tororo prepares to cast its vote in the general elections scheduled for January 15, 2026.

As the political season reaches its climax, Nyafamba’s campaign continues to spotlight the need for peace, cohesion, and shared progress values she insists will define Tororo’s future if embraced by both leaders and citizens.
