NRM’S Eng. Ian Kyeyune who bounced back as Wakiso LC5 Chairperson

The National Unity Platform (NUP) Flag bearer for Wakiso district LC5 seat, Nasifu Najja caused a scene at the district tally center protesting the outcome of the elections which he lost to NRM’S Eng.Ian Kyeyune who bounced back after 10 years in a political sabbatical.

As soon as the Wakiso district returning officer Tolbert Musinguzi announced the election results at around 5pm on January 23,2026, Nasifu Najja immediately disputed the election results and instead sat in front of the returning officer’s office desk. His action prompted mean looking cops to drag him out of the tally room, and in the ensuing scuffle Nasifu had his blue trouser torn apart and left the tally center almost naked .

Eng. Ian Kyeyune, who lost his seat 10 years ago, bounced back after he polled 177,710 votes and saw off his close political rival from National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Najja Nasiifu who got 99,235 votes in second place, while  Democratic Front’s Flavia  Nakafeero garnered 10,597 votes in third place.

While declaring the winner of Wakiso LC5 seat , Tolbert Musinguzi stated:
