Uganda Red Cross Society has denied ever placing an advert for mass recruitment of over 600 personnel that is being widely circulated on Social Media indicating that deadline for receiving applications is Friday, 15th May, 2026.

In a press statement issued today, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) says that the circulating “2026 Mass Recruitment” document is FAKE and was NOT issued by URCS.
“URCS has NOT announced any nationwide recruitment exercise. All contacts, email addresses, website links, and job vacancies appearing in the fraudulent document are unauthorized and misleading,” reads the statement in part.
Interestingly the FAKE Advert is advising applicants to send their applications through a WhatsApp number +256743295356 and not through email as is normal routine.
“Members of the public are strongly advised NOT to share personal documents, send money, or engage with individuals claiming to recruit on behalf of URCS,” warns the statement.
Official URCS opportunities and announcements are ONLY communicated through verified URCS platforms, the official URCS website ([http://redcrossug.org](http://redcrossug.org)), authorized communication channels, and national newspapers.
“Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious recruitment messages or fraudulent activity to the relevant authorities,” says URCS before giving its contact lines as follows;
