KAMPALA: Three Arrested Over Robbery, Rape of 2 Victims in Nsangi

Police in Nsangi have arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery and rape incident that occurred on August 14, 2026, in Bujjasi Cell, Maya Ward, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.

 

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident happened at about 4:00am when three men reportedly broke into a saloon where female occupants were sleeping.

 

Police say the suspects robbed the victims of mobile phones and cash before allegedly sexually assaulting two of the victims multiple times.

 

Following the attack, police commenced investigations and obtained leads that led detectives to identify and apprehend the three suspects.

 

On August 17, 2026, an identification parade was conducted in accordance with the law, during which two victims identified *Kato Enock* among the suspects.

 

The three suspects remain in police custody at Nsangi Police Station as investigations continue. Police say further inquiries are being conducted to establish the full circumstances of the incident and to determine whether other persons were involved.

 

The suspects will be produced in court upon completion of investigations.ASP Owoyesigyire commended the victims for cooperating with investigators and urged members of the public to promptly report criminal incidents and provide information that may assist police investigations.
