BUGISU: BKC Urges Farmers To Ensure High Quality Coffee Production

Coffee farmers in Masabaland have been urged to ensure high quality and good standard of coffee production as a way of having good Market and benefiting from coffee farming.

 

This call was made by Ben Mukhone, the Chief Executive Officer of Balambuli Kwigate Coffee, (BKC) while in a give back meeting with farmers at Buginyanya church of Uganda in Bulambuli district on Sunday, 18th June, 2023.

 

Coffee farmers received their cash bonuses to every farmer, gifts like Televisions and Radios to most competent farmers from Bulambuli Kwigate coffee as an appreciations for selling their coffee to BKC  last season.

 

According to  Mr. Mukhone, this give-back is to motivate farmers to produce quality and standard coffee on market to enable them earn from coffee farming.

 

Mr. Mukhone adds that as Bulambuli Kwigate Coffee, they have secured other projects for the community like safe water that he says the community is benefiting from.

 

He now encourages the community members to supply their coffee to BKC since they have good price rates that favour farmers.

 

James Songo, the LC3 chairman of Buginyanya Sub County says the production of high quality coffee will lead to development of the community.

 

He however, commended Bulambuli Kwigate Coffee for securing jobs for the youths in the Buginyanya sub county that he says will aid the development of the community.

 

Farmers who spoke to our reporter with much joy appreciated Bulambuli Kwigate Coffee for the give back that they say is timely.

 

They say they face challenges of inputs like pesticides, fertilizers and  hence called upon BKC to support them with the inputs that will aid them produce quality coffee for the Market.
