Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) has revealed plans of repairing all primary society structures which are in a sorry state.
This was revealed by John Musila, the vice chairperson of Bugisu Cooperative Union also doubling as Member of Parliament representing Bubulo east constituency while speaking to hundreds of delegates from Lwakhakha zone at Chebukubi house located at Magale town council in Namisindwa district during pre annual general meeting over the weekend.
One week before the BCU annual general meeting, all directors from four zones first hold a pre annual general meeting with delegates of different primary societies at that particular zone to articulate issues which they will present to the AGM.
According to Musila, most of the primary societies at Lwakhakha zone like Buwambwa, Buwaya, Bumakambo, and Makhonge among others are in a sorry state.
He adds that the BCU board with delegates have agreed to pass money during annual general meetings of 30th this month to repair all those societies which are in sorry state across Bugisu region.
Defasi Wabuya and Charles Kituyi, both delegates from Magale primary society under BCU expressed their happiness with the plan saying that this is going to improve on their performance in terms of farmers bringing more coffee.
They add that some farmers have feared to bring their coffee to primary societies fearing to be stolen because doors and winds of some societies are broken.
