Two pedestrians at Ginnery village, Molo Sub County have been knocked dead by a Benz Axor Spare tyres along the Tororo – Mbale Highway.
According to eyewitness accounts, the Benz’s two spare tyres got off from the speeding Benz knocking dead Adeke Margaret aged 40 years together with her 5 year old granddaughter, Ziporah Achieng.
The accident occured at Ginnery village, Molo Sub County along the highway.
Meanwhile, the accident that occured on the evening of yesterday, 4th July, 2023 has left a one Paulo Etyang aged 43 and from the same village in critical condition.
According to Moses Johnson Mugwe, the police spokesperson at Bukedi South, Vehicle number UAP 226F Benz Axor white in colour tyres driven by yet to be identified driver currently on the run knocked pedestrians along side the road while heading to Mbale from Tororo.
He adds that its alleged that the two spare tyres went off from the running vehicle and hit pedestrians who had stood by the road side killing them instantly.
Mugwe also says that currently the driver is on the run and vehicle impounded and towed to Tororo CPS and the two bodies have been taken at Tororo hospital for postmortem as injured one is getting treatment at Tororo hospital.
