Having correctly concluded that politics is the surest way to gain fully employed in Uganda, a number of politically ambitious Ugandans have set their eyes on 2026.

This reporter has exclusively learnt that Elgon fm radio presenter and Namisindwa youth councilor, Emma Bwayo is in a secret fundraising drive looking for money to oust National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) Jackson Wakweika as Namisindwa LC5 chairman.
Highly placed sources in Namisindwa district reveal that Emma is using his radio techniques to sweet talk district tycoons and other powerful political brokers to financially support his political dream.
“He knows that his current chairman LC 5 is not very popular in Namisindwa district and in NRM. His Radio boss is also very rich and doesn’t fear pouring billions of money as long as he is investing it in his employee, so he has to prepare early,” a friend of Emma said.
However, Wakwaika’s camp is accusing Bwayo of going around the13 sub counties in the district and has kept closer to youths and boda boda supporters in the NRM mudslinging their chairman Wakweika and misleading his supporters that he is not going to contest again.
Wakweika’s camp claims that Bwayo’s team is telling Namisindwa district voters that their Chairman is soon going to join agriculture, a decision which he took after establishing that he cannot win the coming general election in 2026 because of the number of political enemies he has.
However, Wakweika’s team confirmed to this reporter that he is coming back in 2026 and ready to face off with any challenger.
Wakweika joined Namisindwa politics in 2021 on NRM ticket. He is one of the blue eyed boys of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Wakweika is one of the LC5 chairmen in Bugisu region who spent much of his campaign time traveling and canvassing votes for NRM and President Museveni in 2021 general elections.
He spent very few days campaigning in his own district to become the chairman LC5 but overwhelmingly defeated all his opponents.
Other candidates so far include Khisa Joseph, councilor representing Bukhaweka Town Council, and veteran medic, Situma Mango.
